The main goal of the Beginner’s Italian Course is to develop the basic skills and strategies, vocabulary, and grammar necessary to read and write basic texts about high-frequency topics based on the Common European Framework for Languages (Levels A1-A2) in preparation for the Advanced Italian Course. Even though the focus is on reading and writing, the course will integrate all four modes of communication (Reception, Production, Interaction, and Mediation). Check here the CEFR description of the communication skills the student is expected to develop throughout the course.
