הקורס סוקר מושגים, רעיונות, תיאוריות, ועקרונות מדעיים יסודיים בביולוגיה תאית ומולקולרית החל ממבוא ברמת האטום ועד לתהליכים רב-תאיים מורכבים. נושאי ההרצאות: מדע הביולוגיה; כימיה של החיים; חלבונים; חומצות גרעין; DNA, גֵנים, גֵנומים ומנגנונים תאיים; הדוֹגמה המרכזית של הביולוגיה המולקולרית; ממברנות ביולוגיות; תאי חיידקים ותאי יצורים עילאיים; ופרקים נבחרים בביולוגיה חדשנית.
אופן ההערכה: בחינה בכתב, בחני רשות, משימות בית אופציונליות, התנסות במציאות מדומה (VR).

The course will survey the basic scientific concepts, ideas, fundamentals and principles of cellular and molecular biology from an atomic-level introduction all the way to multi-cellular processes. Tentative discussed topics will be chosen from the following list, given time limit: Biology as the science of Life; Life chemistry; Proteins; Nucleic acids; DNA, genes, genomes and cellular mechanisms; The central dogma of molecular biology; Biological membranes; Prokaryotic cells and Eukaryotic cells; Selected topics in innovative biology.
Evaluation: Final exam, optional quizzes, optional home assignments, Virtual Reality (VR) experience.
